Fall Fashion

Fall is in the air. I love this time of year, even though San Diego is having a little schizophrenia lately from gloomy and cool weather, to gorgeous sunny skies. The smell of the pumpkin spice lattes makes me all warm and fuzzy inside. I absolutely love fall colors, so rich and gorgeous! Here are a few of my picks to set the season out right...and an excuse to start wearing my favorite boots!

Modern Lighting

Lighting can make or break a room. A pendant light can add style and mood to the space and create ambience. There are so many options out there, that are not the typical, boring fixture.

This pendant lamp from Ikea is fun and inexpensive. At the $29.99 price you can afford to buy a new dining table to go with it.

Also from Ikea, this decorative daisy lamp is a little more expensive, $89.99, but still gentle on the pocket book. When lit the light shadows the pattern on the wall, bringing a little bit of nature inside.

Simple yet elegant this light is great for smaller rooms. It's straight lines can add to the decor but not take away from the original design. You can find it at West Elm for $149.

I just love this quirky lighting. As a surprise element the glass spheres provide ambient light. At West Elm for $199

Ok so this one is a little more Gaudi. I can't help myself sometimes when glitz and glamor are involved.   Whether you are designing a boudoir or a dining room, Z Gallerie's gold chandelier will surely add beauty but at a $399 price.

This little beauty is from Crate and Barrel. I love the natural look and the light filters from the woven copper wire. At the higher end of the price range, this will set you back $449.

Vintage mason jars were made into a pendant lights. So cute for a kitchen! Find it at Terrain for $298.50.

New Bed

After finding the right bedding for my room, I decided that my bed needed to be updated as well. I've had the same canopy bed since high school, and now that I am in my late 20s, the princess look isn't really appropriate...HA! Luckily, my favorite websites have so many great options for headboards and frames. Check them out!

This Mosaic Bed is made from vintage barn wood and fabricated in the USA. I love the pattern and that the wood grains are different in color. It adds a little surprise pop.

Also made from reclaimed wood, this Shutter Bed was made using four shutter panels. I imagine that the wood was rescued from a deteriorating barn somewhere in a quaint part of France, too much? NO!

By far my favorite, the Tufted leather headboard is stylish and modern. It is classic in a since that it will go with any room decor.
Another view of the leather headboard.

The Lotus Bed is delicate and literally is the artwork a room needs. It's so exotic and detailed!

Last but not least, the Platform Bed is a lovely shade of dark Mahogany. Modern lines stream through the shape and brings a sort of timid glamor.

Decisions, decisions! Can't I choose all of them?

Today I begin my journey to become a certified yoga instructor. It has been my dream for sometime now. A little nervous, but mostly excited, I finally gave in to my continuous desire to deepen my practice. I am so ready for a change of the body, mind, and soul. Yoga for me is not just about fitness, it is peace. It has helped me through some tough, stressful times and grounds me. AND I can't help but feel like a little fashionista with all the great clothes Lululemon comes out with. Check out my picks to help with an awesome workout and ujjayi breath (deep yoga breathing).

This little headband is slip resistant and really keeps the hair out of your face.

Love the thumbholes!

Perfect size for all your gear.

Lightweight and breathable this little number keeps you cool.

Crops are always a must!
I LOVE the adventure that I'm going on!

Picture Mural

I've been obsessing over wall murals lately. Currently I'm creating one for my living room. The problem is finding all the art and objects that somehow come together without looking ridiculous. In need of inspiration, I found a few rooms to add to my mood board.

I like the clusters of photos and random art

Who doesn't want an antique mirror wall?

Simple but I love it!

I like the numbers on the reclaimed wood in the upper right corner. I think I'll recreate this using my address.

Framed birdcage! I never would have thought of this.
